Clean Energy Expo - Taupo
The Clean Energy Expo at the New Zealand Clean Energy Centre (NZCEC) near Lake TaupÅ in the Central Plateau will be a Showcase of New Zealand's clean energy technologies open to both international visitors and to the New Zealand public.
What is clean energy?
Clean energy is energy derived from a source that does not require the use of fossil fuels, such as coal, oil or gas. These fuel sources are described as non-renewable, as they are made up of finite reserves and once they are used, they are gone forever.
In contrast, clean energy uses renewable sources, such as hydro, solar, wind or biomass, which will not run out. Along with coming from renewable sources, they either have a significantly lower, or non-existent, impact on the environment due to the fact that the power is not derived through combustion which creates carbon dioxide and other pollutants.
New Zealand clean energy innovation will be on display including demonstrations of technology solutions in wind, geothermal, solar and biomass. If you are interested in learning more about Clean Energy or finding out how you can help with reducing New Zealand's carbon footprint The Clean Energy Expo will introduce you to the latest solutions.
The Expo also aims to connect New Zealand clean energy innovators and solution providers to investors, business partners, business opportunities and distribution channels.
